ACCOMPLISHMENTS


The Sims Enterprises was started in EL Dorado, Arkansas in May 1951. Today we are the second oldest Afro-American Business in EL Dorado that is still operating and growing.


We wanted to give back to the community so we established a Scholarship Fund to help Afro-American young people to obtain an education. The name of the fund is Ella L. Sims Scholarship Fund managed by Union County Community Foundation thereby making donations of any size is tax-free. All applicants for a scholarship send all information to the Foundation. The Foundation turns the applications over to Sims Enterprises to make choices of those who will receive the Scholarships. We give $5,000.00 annually in scholarships.


On April 12, 2016, was called home to be with the Lord.

Robert Henderson, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is a 1999 graduate of Trezevant High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He is the son of Isaac Henderson Jr., a retired Lab Technician with the VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN, and Elnora Henderson, a retired Lab Technician with Lab Corp Inc. in Memphis, TN. Robert is the younger brother of Isaac Henderson and Torri Henderson.  Robert continued his education on a basketball scholarship at Rust College in Holly Springs, MS, where he studied Computer Science and played the point guard position. He later transferred to Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana, where he played basketball and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 2004.


Robert was the youngest Area Supervisor for McDonald's Restaurants with Gilley Enterprises for over 20 years, covering Fordyce, Camden, El Dorado, Crossett, Monroe, and Ruston. Robert worked as an apprentice funeral director under the late Pete Sims, Jr., the owner and operator of Sims Mortuary in El Dorado. He earned an Arkansas funeral director's license in March 2013.


He married Natashia Berry, the daughter of Coach Joe Berry and Diane Berry. They have three children: a daughter, Taylor Berry, who is a student at El Dorado High School; and a son, Robert Bryson Henderson, Jr., who is a student at Norphlet Middle School, an aspiring NBA Basketball player, and a future funeral director, and Jaxon Henderson.


Robert is a young and leading entrepreneur in this area, as well as the owner of Henderson Management, LLC, with real estate holdings in both Union and Ouachita counties. Robert is a member of the Union County Landlord Association, El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, and a team member of the Union County Search and Rescue. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.


On October 14, 2016, Robert and his wife, Natashia, purchased Sims Mortuary and the Sims-Shaw Burial Association. His creative, personalized services and attention to detail have made Sims Mortuary one of the leading funeral homes in the state. He is also co-owner of Williams Funeral Home Van Buren in Camden, Arkansas. He is a member of New Olive Branch Baptist Church in El Dorado.

Natashia Henderson is a 1999 Graduate of Eldorado High School.


Natashia continued her Education at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology with a minor in Social Work. Natashia has also received a Master of Arts degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Natashia married Robert Henderson on April 2, 2011. Natashia and Robert have three children: Taylor, Bryson, and Jaxon.


Natashia is a Co-Owner/ Funeral Director of Sims Mortuary.


Natashia received her funeral director's license in July 2019 and would like to obtain an Embalmer's License in the near future. Funeral service has been the most enjoyable and fulfilling career thus Far. My husband and I have been tremendously blessed by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the individuals of Union County. We, the staff of Sims Mortuary, strive to provide the most professional and compassionate funeral service to families during their time of Bereavement. Natashia has been a member of the Sigma Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc..  Natashia was inducted into the National Honor Society while attending the UALR graduate program. Natashia is a graduate of the Edward G. Colman Leadership Academy. Natashia is a member of the Self-Culture Club in El Dorado, AR. Natashia is a member of New Olive Branch Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR.

Angela Means

Angela K. Means was born in Magnolia, AR where she was raised in a very strict household by her mother, Mary Caldwell, and her late Grandmother, Irene Waller.  Angela was educated in the Magnolia School System and graduated in 1987.  Angela continued her education at SACC where she earned a degree in Criminal Justice and she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society and the National Honor Society.  Angela has one daughter, Adoree’ and one grandson, Keighan. 


Angela served 23 years at the El Dorado Police Department and retired in 2020. Angela is currently the Volunteer Coordinator for LifeTouch Hospice and she is also a Private Investigator for Allied Universal and is licensed in several states. Angela is also working towards her Funeral Director License.  Angela is also a member of Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  Angela is committed to helping her community in any way she can.   “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.” Martin Luther King Jr.

Cacita Wade-Jamerson is a graduate of El Dorado High School, class of 1992. She attended South Arkansas Community College where she received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology. Cacita continued her education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, in Little Rock, earning a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Imaging Sciences. She is currently employed as a Radiology/CT Technologist at the Medical Center of South Arkansas and a Radiology Clinical Instructor for South Arkansas Community College. Cacita is also an Apprentice Funeral Director with aspirations of becoming licensed in the near future.


Cacita is married to Cleothis Jamerson. They have six children, Iyesshia, Brandon, Shanque, Carltelo, Jalen and Rhayna. They also have 4 grandchildren with the 5th one arriving this summer.

As an El Dorado native, Harriett graduated from El Dorado High School in 2004.  She then pursued her secondary education, at Jackson State University, in Jackson, MS.  After obtaining an AA in Business, she migrated back to El Dorado, AR and began her Banking Manager career.  During that time, she also attended South Arkansas community college, receiving an AA in Accounting and worked in the hospitality industry, as a Front Office Manager and Internal Auditor.


After eight years, she transitioned to Murphy USA, where she was a Merchandise Accountant for five years.  While working, she received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a focus in accounting, then transitioned to a Merchandise Category Specialist.  She is a former Board of Director for El Dorado Desk and Derrick club and a current member of the Association of Desk and Derrick club.  Her focus within this organization is to obtain her Oil and Gas lease certification, within the state of Arkansas.  She has completed and passed two of four programs, to acquire the certification. 


She began her career at Sim’s Mortuary, under the direction of Mr. Robert Henderson, in March 2021, as an Apprentice Funeral Director.  Her most current goal is to obtain her AR license, and a dual license in LA, to better serve families, near and afar, as well as the company.

Douglas R. Marsh was born in Camden, Arkansas to Roland and Eva Nell Marsh in 1971. Doug Marsh graduated from Camden Fairview High School in 1989. He has a beautiful wife of 29 years, Kim Marsh, and two lovely daughters, Erica Marsh and Kendra Marsh. Doug has been employed by General Dynamics for almost 24 years in which he currently serves as a Principal Supervisor. He has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. Doug proudly pastors New Mount Union Baptist Church in Junction City, Arkansas. He has held this prestigious role for 16 years and has continued to strengthen his pastoral resume by obtaining an Associate degree of Theology. Doug currently covets the role as an Apprentice Funeral Director at Sim’s Mortuary, under the close guidance of Mr. Robert Henderson. The two-year role has allowed Doug to display the joy he receives in assisting families during their time of bereavement. Doug aspires to obtain licenses in both Arkansas and Louisiana.

Diane Berry was born on August 12, 1960, in El Dorado, Arkansas. She is currently employed as a supervisor for MJB Wood Group. Diane graduated from El Dorado High School in 1978. She is a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she serves on the culinary committee and is a committed choir member. Diane has been married to her husband Joe Berry for 37 years, she has two daughters, Natashia Henderson and Brandy Berry, and seven grandkids, Amari Berry, Jay Berry, Taylor Berry, Robert Bryson Henderson Jr. Jaxon Henderson, Cristian Jackson, and Lakeland Jackson.

May 3, 1963 - July 21, 2011 "May the work I've done speak for me" Denise Walton attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. She Later became a Resource Officer for the Hermitage School District. She was a member of the Sims Mortuary Staff until her passing.
