Willie R. Snowden was the firstborn of Paul and Beulah Snowden. He was born on January 16, 1941, in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Willie attended elementary and secondary schools in Arkansas. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1958. While in High School he played football. He also developed a love for golf as a result of his father’s training. He caddied for many years and continued to develop his skills in golf.
He accepted Christ early in life under the guidance of his parents at Morning Star Baptist Church.
After graduating from High School, he attended Texas Southern University from 1958-1960. He later joined the Army and served our country for two years. After the completion of his two years of service, he attended and graduated from AM & N College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
In the year 2000, he re-connected with his High School sweetheart Gloria Soldon. They both retired in 2004 and he moved to Kansas City. They were married in 2005 and the rest is history.
Willies leaves to cherish his memories, his spouse of 17 years Gloria Soldon-Snowden of Lenexa, Kansas; His son, Roderick Snowden from Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his sister, Irma Sims from Chicago, Illinois; two brothers, Paul and Jimmy (Rosie) Snowden from Fordyce, Arkansas; Special Cousins and Sisters, Dorothy Thompson from Texarkana, Arkansas, and Beverly Snowden Schultz from El Dorado, AR; Nieces and nephews Pastor Paul Calvin Sims (Carol), Elgie R. Sims (Shivonne) and Libue Steven Sims from Chicago, Illinois, Paula Snowden Middleton of Missouri, Calvin, Kenny, Marquita, and Shea.
