Sis. Verda M. Traylor, called Momma Dear by her family was born July 7, 1936, to Arlo and Thelma Taylor in Calion, Arkansas. She graduated at the age of sixteen from Smith High school, she begins taking piano lessons at an early age and mastered it! She joined Willow Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a young child. She began playing the piano for Willow Grove Baptist Church at the age of ten and continued playing there for an additional seventy years. She was a member of the Greater Bradley District Association Section #2. Where she served faithfully and was a devoted choir director and pianist. She never let her blindness be an excuse. She was employed by Warner Brown Hospital, Calion Lumber Co., and El Dorado Furniture Plant throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arlo and Thelma Taylor, her husband Perry Traylor, two brothers, Otis Johnson and Perry Taylor, two sisters Peggy Taylor and Gwendolyn Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Perry (Sharon) Traylor, Lisa Traylor, Renetta (Donnie) Lovette, Terry Traylor, and Erica Traylor. One brother James (Lottie) Taylor. Eight grandchildren, Tim (Stephanie) Mullins, Cheree (Eric) Rucks, Nathaniel Traylor, Courtney Gibson, Patrick Traylor, Shantonio Unice, Donovan Unice, and Brendon Traylor. Eight great grand Children, special sister-in-laws Pattie Carter, Jenetta Burgie, LeAngela Traylor, and Faye Traylor, a very special friend Gladys Washington
Funeral Services will be Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. at Willow Grove Missionary Baptist Church. There will be no Public Visitation at the Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
