Thomas Lorenzo Givings, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and dedicated truck driver, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, determination, and unwavering commitment. He was born on December 9, 1970, and was 52 years old at the time of his passing. Born and raised in El Dorado, AR, Thomas was the son of Gloria Jean Criner (El Dorado, AR) and the late Elbert Givings. He had one brother, whose name is Quentine Roberson (Manhattan, KS).

 

Thomas was a God-fearing Man who accepted Christ at an early age under the teachings of Rev. Porchia at First Baptist in El Dorado, AR. Before completing his curriculum at Job Corps, he attended El Dorado High School with the graduating class of '89. The completion of Job Corp laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

 

Thomas found his true passion in driving 18-wheelers and pursued a successful career in the trucking industry. He attended Arkansas Trucking Academy in Pine Bluff, AR, where he received his CDL. He demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, traversing countless miles on the open road. Through his profession, Thomas built a reputation for reliability, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the transportation industry. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and he took great pride in being a reliable and responsible truck driver.

 

Beyond his dedication to his career, Thomas was a deeply loved individual.

 

He was known affectionately as "Chuck D" and was cherished by his family and Friends. Thomas's warm and caring nature endeared him to all who knew him. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds; he was always willing to lend a helping hand and never met a stranger. Thomas's presence brought joy and laughter to every gathering. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and his infectious smile could light up any room. He had a way of making those around him feel comfortable and embraced. Thomas's unwavering love and support for his family and friends will be cherished and remembered forever.

 

Thomas is preceded in death his father, Elbert Givings; Grandmother, Jimmy L Roberson; two Aunts, Betty Buffing and Tammy Roberson; three Uncles, Randy Roberson, Jewel Kelly, Joe Roberson; and his In-laws, Bobby and Mary Daniels.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Sharon Givings of Camden, AR; His biological son Tommas Lorenzo Givings of El Dorado, AR; his Mother, Gloria Jean Criner, and stepmother, Mollie Givings; four Stepchildren JaMondea Hall of El Dorado, Treveon Hall of El Dorado, AR, Datron Hall of El Dorado, AR, Latron Hall of Hot Springs, AR; Three bonus daughters Jamaria(Quincy) Shelton of EI Dorado, AR, Mary(George) Daniel of El Dorado, AR, Cameri Manning of El Dorado, AR; various of grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family he referred to as "his brothas from another mother."
