Sandy Holmes

Sandy Junior Holmes was born on January 18, 1948, in Spearsville, La, to the late Willie Lee Holmes and Lillie Pearl Holmes.

Sandy departed this life on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was surrounded by family and friends.

Sandy had a short education due to having to help work and provide for his family. Later in life, he was employed by Frank Thompson, which was later sold to Delek. He was there for 21 years and retired in March 2021. He was a wonderful father, husband, and grandfather. His hobbies were gardening, hunting, fishing, and taking rides with his wife of 56 years. He was a faithful friend to all that knew him. Sandy loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Ray Holmes, Willie Tavis Holmes (Walt), Charles Lee Holmes, Terry Joe Holmes (Bay lee), and Billie Ray Holmes.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 56 years, Patsy Holmes, and three daughters, Carolyn Davis (Cliff), Deborah Holmes, and Sandrea Talley. Three brothers David Holmes Sr. (Blue), Kenneth Wayne Holmes (Kent), and Larry Glenn Holmes (Unc.), and three sisters, Pearlene Turner (Robert), Clara Mae Holmes, and Jackie Faye Hurey (Curt). Thirteen grandchildren Shameka Holmes, Brandy Manning (Bo), Tiffany Roberson (Jonte), Terea Henry, Michael Gray (RiQuita), Kristopher Gray (Shonda), Troy Henry, Shardai Talley (Red), Samya Talley (Rebecca), Kiyah Talley (Tijuana), Tiana Secyone Brown, Torella Brown (Amire), and Aniyha Talley. Two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
