Ruth Tolefree

Sister Ruth Tatum Tolefree, age 93, the second child born to the late Lindsey Tatum and Roxie Bell Tatum Weaver, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at her home.

On June 28, 1945, Sister Ruth was united in marriage to Rev. Levi Tolefree. They shared 76 wonderful years of happiness, and five children were born from this union. Sister Ruth was a lovable Person. She loved her family and was a loving and caring mother.

Sister Tolefree accepted Christ at an early age at a Baptist Church in Parkdale, Arkansas, where the Rev. A. Junior was the pastor. Later in 1951, following her marriage, The Tolefree family moved from Thebes, AR, with only two children at that time and settled into the Quinn community. Along with her husband, they became members of Quinn Chapel AME Church and served until God saw the need to make use of Rev. Tolefree as a vessel to spread His Word through ministry. Sister Tolefree was a devoted helpmate and faithful member wherever her husband was assigned.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Sadie James, Alma Weaver, and Helen McCuriches; two brothers, Frank Weaver and Billy Rufus Anderson; and a grandson Chad Tolefree.

Four Sons, Thomas (Donna) Tolefree of Crossett, AR; Carl (Alma) Tolefree of Hamburg, AR; Leslie (Sandra) Tolefree of Crossett, AR Kenneth (Falecia) Tolefree of Crossett, AR, One Sister Margaret Jean Lark, One Brother Jessie Weaver of Monroe, LA. Mrs. Tolefree also leaves ten grandchildren, a large number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives, and special friends who mourn her passing and will truly miss her.
