Apostle Ricky Wayne Cunningham entered earth on July 5, 1958, in Houston, TX, to the loving care of Herbert McCall and Minnie Jean Cunningham. He entered eternity on November 13, 2025, in Camden, AR. The family moved to Stamps when he was young, and here, he was taught the love of God and family. He confessed Christ and united with Greenville Baptist Church at a very young age.
After graduating from Stamps High School in 1976, he attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on a full scholarship earned by excelling in music and the Band. While at UAPB, he had the honor of serving as Drum Major. After graduating from UAPB with a degree in music.
In 1981, he became a DJ at clubs in Camden & Lewisville, where he was known as DJ Rick. While Ricky was well known and liked on the club scene, God had other plans to use his gifts in the ministry. He accepted his calling and was fully committed to God's purpose for his life for over 25 years. He shared God's love through the preached word and through music. He served as the Minister of Music at True Word South Ministries, Camden, AR, under the leadership of Bishop Arnold, until he was called to pastor Cross Roads Baptist Church in Lewisville, AR, in September 2025.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Suzanne Nash. They originally met at the famous "Boat Club" in 1985, where he was working his magic as DJ Rick and she was a cook at the club. They became close friends during this time, until life took them in different directions. They later rekindled their friendship in 2013, which led to marriage in July 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Jean Toney, Herbert McCall, Sandra Guilbeau (sister), and Hileighla "Tootie" Weston (niece).
He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife: Suzanne Cunningham, Children: Juanita (Aaron) Scott, Vanity Cunningham, Princeton Cunningham, Taylor Cunningham, and Asha Cunningham: Step -Daughters: Patrice Calahan and Felicia Malone, 17 grandchildren, 5 great granddaughters, one great grandson, three nephews, and two nieces; Sisters: Marilyn (Dennis) Cook and Stephanie Browning, and Special Friends: Irene Ross and Veronica Jackson
