Rev. Earl L. Hildreth

November 6, 1945 — September 21, 2018

Rev. Earl L. Hildreth was born on November 6, 1945 to Rev. Curtis Hildreth, Sr., and Callie M. Charles in Ogemaw, AR.  He passed away on September 21, 2018 at the age of 72.  He was raised in Smackover, Arkansas where he graduated from Smackover Training School in 1964.

He married Callie M. Minor on October 28, 1965, they were married for 29 years. He later joined the United States Army in June 1969. He finished the Phoenix Police Academy in Phoenix, AZ, in 1972 where as he served several years on the Phoenix Police Department.

Rev Hildreth was later ordained as a Baptist Minister and pastored the following churches:  East Side Baptist Church Eldorado, AR, Shady Grove Baptist Church Mt. Holly, AR, Cedar Grove Baptist Church Waldo, AR, Kendricks Chapel Baptist Church, Wallisville, AR, and New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Norphlet AR.

Rev. Hildreth is preceeded in death by his parents: Rev Curtis Hildreth Sr. and Callie M. Charles; three brothers: Thomas Hildreth, LCDR (Ret.) Billy J. Hildreth and Curtis Hildreth Jr, four sisters: Dr. Helen R. Gurley, Gloria D. Ramey, Melva D. Allen, and Gladys Mosby. 

Rev. Hildreth leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters:  La Trice M. Hildreth of El Dorado, AR, Sherrell R. Hildreth of Clovis, CA, Sonja V. Glover of Dallas, TX, La Klita S. Hildreth, of El Dorado, AR; one son: Shaun T. Hildreth, of Warren, AR; two nephew/sons: Bill Ramey of Las Vegas, NV and AstaRamey of Atlanta, GA;  nine grandchildren: Quinton J. Davis-Parker of Danville, IL, Essence S. Parker of El Dorado, AR, Sherrod “Ro” Hildreth of Dallas, TX, Jaleesa N. Ramey of El Dorado, AR , Arianna M. Ford of Richmond, CA, Destiny S. Hildreth of Dallas, TX , Tiffany B. Hildreth of Dallas, TX; Serenity M. Caver and Mister D. Carver of El Dorado, AR ; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: La Ruth Buggs (Willie)of Smackover, AR, Greta L. Frazier of El Dorado, AR; two step-brothers: Ocie Richardson (Dorothy) of Smackover, AR, Larry Richardson (Telisha) of Ludowici, GA; three step-sisters: Carolyn Rozier (Kenneth) of El Dorado, AR, Melissa Minor of El Dorado, AR, Melinda Keller of Fayetteville, AR.  He also leaves to cherish his memory two uncles, one aunt, nephews, nieces, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Morning Star Baptist Church #2 under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook online at www.simsmortuary.com. Cremation services provided by Sims Mortuary.
