Pauline Henry

November 7, 1938 — December 24, 2020

Pauline (Brown) Henry, born November 7, 1938, in Junction City, Arkansas to the late Ardis and Lillie Mae Brown (Ross). Pauline answered the heavenly call on Wednesday, December 24, 2020, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas. Surrounded by family and loved ones, she exited this earthly home to go be with the one who loved her most.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Arnold Preston Henry and in this union, three daughters were born, Cassandra Woods (Paul), Paula White (Willie), and Gloria Henry-Stewart (Marvin).

During her school years, she attended Rosenwald schools in Junction City, Arkansas. She was an active member of the New Mount Union Baptist Church in Junction City until she became ill. Earlier, she was a member of the hospitality ministry and later sang in the choir. Pauline’s love for music began at an early age when she was stood in a chair to sing with the adult choir. Although not commonly known, she played the piano and recorded a gospel single.

Professionally, she worked at the Medical Center of South Arkansas as an X-Ray Technician until her retirement (with over 20 years of service).

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Paul Brown, and sister Muriel Jean Levingston. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Cassandra Woods (Paul) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Paula White (Willie) of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Gloria Henry-Stewart (Marvin) of Lorton, Virginia. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Natika Gatson and Corey Woods (Little Rock, Arkansas), Natalie, Eboni, and Jordan Hunter (El Dorado, Arkansas), and Kennedy and Christian Taylor (Lorton, Virginia). As the eldest of three children, she leaves one brother, Howard Brown (Grambling, Louisiana), one sister Patricia Benton (Strong, Arkansas), and one aunt, Maggie Mae Love (Altadena, California). She leaves six nieces, Vanessa Brown (Pine Bluff, Arkansas), Janice Meeks (El Dorado, Arkansas), Paula Billings (El Dorado, Arkansas), Chekelah Phelps (Mansfield, Texas), Camillia Benton (El Dorado, Arkansas), and Robbie Douglas (Chula Vista, California); and four nephews, David Brown (Muskogee, Oklahoma), Howard Brown Jr. (Desoto, Texas), Eric and Pradis Benton, Jr. (El Dorado, Arkansas). She leaves a host of other relatives and close friends who she loved dearly
