Myrtis Kirk

Myrtis (Battle) Kirk affectionately known by her children, family, and friends as Mama Myrt was born July 4, 1937, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to the late Clifford Battle and Ossie Autry. Myrtis departed her earthly home on October 4, 2023.

Myrtis accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age when she united First Baptist Church-Cordell of El Dorado.

Myrtis received her education at Booker T. Washington High School in 1956. She later attended Oil Belt, where she received her CNA certification. From there, she went to work at Warner Brown Hospital and Union Medical for 40-plus years.

Myrtis was married to Albert Boulden Sr., and with that union, they had three children: Albert Boulden, Jerome Boulden, Eugenia Ford, and then there was the baby girl Lisa.

In 1985, she united with Luther Kirk Jr.; they were married until his earthly departure in 2000.

She loved being around her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she was known to be a great dancer. She also loved to attend EHS sporting events, and she loved to travel until she got sick. She also loved hanging out with her cousin Carol Shutes.

Myrtis is preceded by her grandparents, Nanny Tuggle Autry and Tom Autry, Jessie and Josey Battle, parents Clifford Battle and Ossie Autry, sisters Linda Carter and Joann Battle; brothers Joseph Battle, William C Battle; four children: Albert Boulden, Jerome Boulden, Eugenia Ford, and Luther Kirk II.

Myrtis leaves her precious memories to her sweet baby girl Lisa Jamerson, Rhonda (Johnathan) Hill, Ed (Penny) Kirk, Kenneth Kirk, Micheal Kirk, Andrea Bridges, Ted Kirk, Veronica Drummond, grandchildren: Damon Henry, Brandon Jamerson, Cheston Ford, Jerome Boulden (J2), Iyesshia Boulden, Nadia Ford, Shaneque Jamerson, Alexis Crater, Karen Stewart and a host of great grandchildren family and friends.
