Maya Wilson

Maya Simone Wilson was born to Sharon Moore and Steven Wilson on September 3, 1996, in Little Rock, AR. She departed this life on July 21, 2024, in Rockford, IL.

She was baptized at Beulah Grove Baptist Church under Reverend Luther Harris.

Maya later graduated in 2014 from El Dorado High School.

Maya's life was colored by her love for art. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, and her passion for drawing was a vibrant part of her being.

She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Wylie Wilson, and two paternal grandparents, James and Helen Wilson. Two maternal great-grandmas, Myrtle Lee Moore and Willie Bell Coggins, and her brother Xavier Moore.

Maya leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her mother, Sharon Pierce (Russell); her son Eugene Douglas Bradford III; her maternal grandparents, James and Annie Moore of El Dorado, AR; two sisters, Brianna Moore and Tamesha Gray of El Dorado, AR, and a brother, Larry Gray of Ruston, LA, will forever hold her close in their hearts. She also leaves behind a special aunt, Felicia Moore of Kansas City, Mo, a special uncle, Gregory Moore of Pine Bluff, AR, and a host of Aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
