Mary McMurrian

On September 16, 2023, the sunset and the hourglass, with its sands of time, passed, and so went the life of our dearly beloved Mary Ann McMurrian. She accepted Christ at an early age while attending Pleasant Grove and later started attending Mt. Zion #2 Baptist church.

Mary was born in Union County, Arkansas, on June 27, 1943, to the late Porter and Alburine Washington. She enjoyed a lifetime of closeness to her family and loved singing in the choir.

Preceding her in death are her daughter Carolyn Meadors, two grandsons, Zeketon Jones and Willie Hicks, Jr. Siblings, Roosevelt Benton, Kinneth Ray Washington, Willie James Washington, Raymond Washington, Willie B. Washington, Vinna Jean Reynolds, Alma Washington, Onie Mae Washington, Odie Mae Washington, twin sisters Thelma and Velma.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Barbara Morgan (Theo) of Desoto, Texas; two sons, Rev. James Andrews (Betty) of El Dorado, Ark, Glen Evans (Jenise) of Little Rock, Ark; one sister, Phyllis Shepherd, two brothers, Odell Washington, and Rex Washington all of Detroit, MI, sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
