Mary Helen Mayweather

September 3, 1959 — April 25, 2026

Mary Helen Mayweather was the beloved daughter of O.L. Brown and Lillie Mae Brown. She was born on September 3, 1959, in El Dorado, Arkansas. Her mother, by example, taught her Christian values and integrity. At a young age, Mary united with Little Bethel Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, under the leadership of Rev. Leon Miller. Later in life, she united with St. James Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, under the leadership of the late Bishop George Calloway. In 2009, she united with The Word Family Church in Camden, Arkansas, under the leadership of Bishop Jacovis Davis and Pastor Iretha Davis, where she faithfully served as a praise team leader and member until her passing.

She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1978. After graduation, Mary began her career in the workforce, where she served as a training aide and cook at South Arkansas Development Center for more than 20 years.

Mary was the type of woman who would give the shirt off her back. She loved cooking delicious meals and baking her famous cakes. She had the most welcoming smile that would light up a room whenever she entered. She was loving, caring, and full of wisdom. She cherished and adored her grandsons. One of the things she loved to do was randomly sing songs wherever she was at the time.

On April 25, 2026, she was called home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, O.L. Brown; grandparents, Booker and Irene Harper; three sisters, Lille Louise Green, Lula Mae Brown, and Vera Frazier; one brother, O.L. Brown; her daughter, Lashonna Louis; her nephew, Tremayne Brown; and one great-nephew, Comesico Pumphrey.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Lillie Mae Brown of El Dorado, Arkansas; daughters, Cashonna Moore (Larry) of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Tiffany Ross (Jerod) of Smackover, Arkansas; Kenneth Mayweather, with whom she shared three daughters and many years of family history; grandchildren, Jordan Jones of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Larry Moore III of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Winston, Langston, and Kingston Ross of Smackover, Arkansas; sisters, Cynthia Pumphrey, Virtie Mayweather (John), Angela Williams (Sankeno), LaVonya Brown, and Nakeysha Brown, all of El Dorado, Arkansas; brothers, Henry Brown (Kristy) and James Brown, both of Minnesota, Willie Brown of Hot Springs, Arkansas; special brother, Andre Harper of El Dorado, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
