Margaret Lark

November 28, 1945 — February 22, 2023

Sister Margaret Tatum Lark was born on November 28, 1945. She was the firstborn child of Maudie Mae Williams Tatum and the third child of Lindsey Tatum. Margaret passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospice in Shreveport, LA.

On October 6, 1973, Mrs. Margaret was united in holy matrimony to Joshua Lark, and they shared many years of happiness. She loved her family and was a very caring and sharing mother. Sister Margaret was a graduate of Booker T. Washington school; Mrs. Lark accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of First Baptist Church of El Dorado, AR; her love to do the will of Christ extended far and beyond to any church or organization that needed her caring and love of Christ to be shared. Sister Lark was a CNA at Oak Ridge Nursing Home. She also worked in the school system under Hue P. Watson. When she retired, she became a housekeeper to help many Doctors, Lawyers, and Judges, caring for and sharing her love and the love of Christ with them. Sister Lark loved to shop and buy many gifts from the home shopping channel/QVC; this hobby kept her happy, buying Gifts for anyone and everyone. She would always say, "the world has it backward, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance, and security systems, but God's peace is, however, such an all-encompassing gift that it is independent of all circumstances, if you lose everything else, but gain God's trust you are rich indeed."

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, the late Joshua Lark, parents Lindsey Tatum and Maudie Mae Williams Tatum, and two sisters Helen McCuriches, and Ruth Tolefree.

Mrs. Lark leaves to cherish her memories her son Roderick King Sr. of Bossier City, La, two grandchildren Roderick King Jr. of Houston, TX, Broderick King of Texarkana, AR, and one godchild Breanna Riley, and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and special friends who will cherish her memories and special love, she will truly be missed.
