Marjorie Young O'Guinn was born on October 1, 1935, in the Holy Springs Community of Springfield, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Adolph D. Young (A.D.) and Effie Mae Wesley Young.

On June 15, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was called to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.D. Young and Effie Mae Wesley Young; her husband, Charlie (L.T.) O'Guinn Jr.; one son, Alvin Bernard O'Guinn; three sisters, Pearline Brockman, Birtha Criswell, and Ruthie Young; and seven brothers, Sylvester, Allen, Richard, A.D. Jr., James, Clifton, and Albert Young.

At an early age, Marjorie accepted Christ and became a member of Holy Springs Baptist Church. Later, she united with Ebenezer Baptist Church in Strong, Arkansas, where she remained a faithful member until her earthly departure. She served in several capacities, including Youth Director, Youth Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk, Deaconess, and Secretary of the Women's Missionary Society.

In 1952, she graduated as co-valedictorian of her class from Conway County Training School in Menifee, Arkansas. In 1956, she graduated cum laude from Arkansas AM&N College (now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff) with a degree in English. That same year, she began her career as a senior high school English teacher and librarian at Gardner High School in Strong, Arkansas. Following integration and the merger of Gardner High School and Strong High School in 1970, Marjorie continued serving as a librarian until her retirement in 1990.

Her lifelong hobbies included reading, gardening, and fishing.

Marjorie was married to Charlie (L.T.) O'Guinn Jr., and to this union two sons were born: Alvin Bernard O'Guinn and Gerald Keith O'Guinn.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Gerald Keith O'Guinn (Tonya) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Moneletha Brontez O'Guinn (Tantarras) of El Dorado, Arkansas, Deonna Johnson of Flint, Michigan, Jerome McCollum of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Ashley Okereke of Nashville, Tennessee, Arianna Underwood of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Alvin Jordan O'Guinn of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one sister, Dollie Pickens of Conway, Arkansas; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
