On August 29, 1936, God blessed C. B. Green and Mollie B. White Turner with a beautiful baby girl in Strong, Arkansas, and they named her Lou Ellen.
She accepted Christ at a very early age at the Pleasant Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church and, in later years united with the Curry Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Strong where she served on the Benevolent Committee and was the proud chairperson each year for the “Family and Friends Day” program. She attended Gardner High School in Strong, Arkansas. After high school, she began her work career with Dr. Cook in Strong, Arkansas, and with everything that she obtained from Dr. Cook, she furthered her medical knowledge to the Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, Arkansas.
