Lou Ellen Green

August 29, 1936 — December 11, 2021

On August 29, 1936, God blessed C. B. Green and Mollie B. White Turner with a beautiful baby girl in Strong, Arkansas, and they named her Lou Ellen.

She accepted Christ at a very early age at the Pleasant Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church and, in later years united with the Curry Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Strong where she served on the Benevolent Committee and was the proud chairperson each year for the “Family and Friends Day” program.  She attended Gardner High School in Strong, Arkansas.  After high school, she began her work career with Dr. Cook in Strong, Arkansas, and with everything that she obtained from Dr. Cook, she furthered her medical knowledge to the Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, Arkansas.  After leaving the nursing facility, she began work at the Conagra Poultry Company in El Dorado, Arkansas, where she retired in 1998.

Lou & Mother, as she was affectionally called by her family and friends, enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her extended family.

Her pastime was going to church, cooking, fishing, and playing cards with the residents at the Christopher Homes Facility.

Her parents; children; Barbara Ann Moore, Bobby Lynn Shelton, her grandson Kenrico Moore, and her brother; Ernest Green, precede her in death. On Saturday, December 11, 2021, Lou Ellen departed this life at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her children, Evelyn Faye Lovett (Billy Frank) of Strong, Arkansas, and Earnestine Hill (Johnny) of Spearsville, Louisiana.

Her brother, Albert Turner (Phyllis), of Rockford, Illinois.  Goddaughter; Linda Sue Singleton of Spearsville, Louisiana.  Grandchildren; Tamiko Gray (Derrick) of Arlington, Texas, Billy Torrez Lovett of Strong, Arkansas; Tameshia Smith of White Hall, Arkansas and LaCoya Lovett of Mansfield, Texas.  Great Grandchildren; Devante Lovett, Kennedy Gray, Kadence Gray, Keirson Gray, and Christian Robinson.  Her bonus family; Debbie Shelton-Autry (SwinDell) of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Gregory Shelton (Valarie) of Tucson, Arizona, Veronica Shelton of Temple, Texas; and Vickie Brown (Mike) of Hephzibah, Georgia.   She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who miss her dearly.
