Lillie Standard

Lillie Mae Standard, age 86, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at Methodist North Hospital. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Douglass Elementary all the way into Douglass High School. She was known to always keep a bright smile on her face as well as to always lend a helping hand. When she got older, she become a lab tech for the V.A, once she retired, she began to work at Dillard’s to continue to assist others until she fully retired. Lillie showed compassion,and love, and would assist all those that were in need. 

Lillie was born in Memphis, TN to Lula Hicks and Willie Dickens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lee Standard, and son, James Clay.

She is survived by three daughters, Arnita Isabel, Demetrice Thorpe, and Carloss Owens. She leaves one brother; Isaac (Elnora) Henderson Jr., one sister; Norma Mae Smith, six grandchildren Demetria Isabel, DiShon Isabel,Carnita McKeithen, Ricardo McKeithen, Nathaniel Owens, Natashwa Newberry, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

The visitation is Friday, October 28, 2022, at M.J. Edwards Stage Road Chapel from 4PM- 7PM. On Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Calvary Church of God in Christ, 1532 Ellington St, Memphis, visitation is from 10AM-10:45AM, followed by the funeral service from 11AM-12PM.

Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington, TN at 1PM.
