Lashonna Louis

Lashonna Lashay "Shay" Louis, the beloved daughter of Mary Helen Mayweather and Joe Nathan Lewis (Leona), and stepdad Kenneth Mayweather (Regina). Lashonna was born October 11, 1978, in El Dorado, AR. Her mother who by example, taught Christian values and integrity. At a young age, she united with Little Bethel Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, under the leadership of Rev. Leon Miller. Later in life, she united with St. James Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, under the leadership of Bishop George Calloway. She then united with the Word Family Church in Camden, AR, under the leadership of Bishop Jacovis Davis, where she remained a member until her death.

Shay graduated from Parkers Chapel High School in 1997. After graduation, she moved to Hot Springs, AR, where she lived alone for two years.

Shay was a young woman full of life and encouragement to and for everyone around her. She was truly an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. It was almost as if she was a small-town celebrity. (lol) A stranger she never met. She enjoyed sitting outside ALL day fellowshipping with anyone who passed by. She was loved by everyone who came in contact with her. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

On January 27, 2025, she was called home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Annie Pearl Lewis and Pete Lewis, great-grandparents, Irene and Booker Harper and Elouise Yarbrough; two aunts, Lillie Green and Lula Mae Brown; uncle O.L. Brown, cousins Tremayne Brown and Comesico Pumphrey.

Survivors include her parents, Mary Helen Mayweather, and Joe Lewis (Leona), both of El Dorado, AR, and her step-father Kenneth Mayweather (Regina) of Calion, AR; her grandmother, Lillie Mae Brown of El Dorado, AR; sisters, Cashonna Moore (Larry) of El Dorado, AR, Tiffany Ross (Jerod) of Smackover, AR; brother Jonathan Lewis (Tameka) of Houston, TX; special siblings Shanitria Williams and Ankeno Williams; nephews Jordan Jones, Larry Moore III, Winston Ross, Langston Ross, and Kingston Ross; aunts Cynthia Pumphrey, Virtie Mayweather (John) Angela Williams, Vera Frazier, Lavonya Brown, Terease Lewis of Jacksonville, AR, and Nakeysha Brown all of El Dorado, AR. Uncles Henry Brown (Kristy) of Minnesota, Willie Brown of Hot Springs, AR, and James Brown of Minnesota. And a host of cousins who loved her dearly.
