Kenyata Lateria Jones-Batimore

February 9, 1982 — June 27, 2019

On February 9, 1982, God blessed Garrett and Angela Jones with a beautiful baby girl in Strong, Arkansas and they named her Kenyata Lateria.

She accepted Christ and was baptized at That Church in Sherwood Arkansas.  Kenyata was a 2000 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School in Dover, Delaware.  In the summer 1998-1999 she attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the Math & Science - EOP Program. She began her educational career in 2010 attending Bellevue University obtaining a master’s degree in Behavioral Psychology and obtained a second Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from Walden University in 2015.  In earlier years she was employed as a Trainer for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Centene Corporation.  She was presently employed with AFMC – Arkansas Foundation of Medical Care as a Senior Representative in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Kenyata enjoyed spending time with her children and family.  Her pastimes were crafting, reading and traveling.

Her grandfather; Lovell Dixon, grandmother; Constance Jones, uncles; Joe Ervin Dixon, Mark Jones, aunt; Ethel Dean Woods and cousin; Natasha Dixon all precede her in death. Kenyata departed this life on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at her home In Maumelle, Arkansas.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her children; Garrett Jacome, Cohen Jacome, Jordan Baltimore and Everly Dozier all of Maumelle, Arkansas. Her parents; Garrett and Angela Jones of Maumelle, Arkansas. One sister; Whitney Jones-Doakes (Daniel) of Sinajana, Guam. Her grandmother; Iteria Dixon of Strong, Arkansas and her grandfather; William E. Jones of Baltimore, Maryland. Her 2 God-Sisters; Erica Dixon of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Latoya Hicks (Daryl) of Little Rock, AR.   Her former husband and friend, Christopher Baltimore of Sherwood, Arkansas. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday July 5, 2019, at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Curry Chapel A.M.E. Church. Under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook online at www.simsmortuary.com
