His Life
Joshua Shemar Sims was born March 25, 2005, the youngest son of Elgie and Penny Sims (Lea). Despite the loss of his father at the age of 15, Joshua was loved unconditionally and was raised to focus on Christ, whom he accepted at an early age and became a member of Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Pine Bluff, AR.
Education
He was a graduate of El Dorado High School in 2023.
Family
As a son, brother, and Uncle, Joshua was loving and caring in his unique ways. The many friends and others he came in contact with loved his smile that would make their day. He touched many lives during his 18 years.
Going Home
Early on Thursday Morning, July 6, 2023, Joshua was called home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elgie R. Sims, S.R.
Joshua leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Penny Sims, seven brothers, Paul (Carol) of Chicago, Illinois, Elgie (Shivonne) J.R. of Chicago, Illinois, Terrance (Rashonda) of Memphis, Tennessee, Darnelle (Emily) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Renelius (Shekasha) of Springdale, Arkansas, Steven of Chicago, Illinois, and Sean (Teresa) of El Dorado, Arkansas. Seven Sisters Elgie Rena Neely (Fletcher) of Chicago, Illinois; Teresa Sims of Memphis, Tennessee; Vicky Brown (Mike) of Spring Lake, North Carolina; Krystal Norman of Shreveport, Louisiana; D'Andrea Jackson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Cassandra Whitworth of Valparaiso, Florida, and Rashawnda (Albert) of El Dorado, Arkansas. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
