John Mitchell

John P. Mitchell passed away on Dec. 11, 2023, in Eldorado, Arkansas. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Beatrice Walker Mitchell and Robert E. Mitchell. After the passing of his mother, he and his brother(Robert E. Mitchell) went to live in Mount Holly, Arkansas, with their Aunt Robbie and Uncle Joe Thomas. John Mitchell was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army and retired as a sergeant after 4 years of service.

After retiring, John settled down in Eldorado, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and working on cars. Everyone knew him as "Little Brother". In his younger days, he had a running buddy by the name of Michelle Biddle and a "sister" Doris Gurganious Smith.

John's memories will forever be cherished by his devoted, loving wife, Anthanette Mitchell; his daughters, Maria Wilson and Juanita Gregg(Chris); and his niece, Ebony Mitchell. A son and brother "Maurice Mitchell" "Robert Mitchell," whom he will see in heaven with other family members. Two loving pets, Prince and Tiny. John had nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of family, cousins, and friends.
