Joan Ross was born on February 22, 1947, in Smackover, Arkansas, to Jonas Blackmon and Lula B. Blackmon. She attended Smackover Training School. Joan lived in Flint, Michigan, until her late husband, Williams (Bay) Ross, retired and relocated to Arkansas.
Joan was a dedicated surgical tech at McLaren Hospital for more than twenty years. Along with her husband, she returned to her roots and became an employee of a local convenience store for 19 years.
Joan united faithfully with Snow Hill Baptist Church, where she served many roles until her health failed.
Joan was united in marriage to William (Bay) Ross on January 3, 1965, and to this Union, Four daughters were born: Regina T. Ross, Jacqueline A. Ross, Angela D. Ross, and Ebony D. Howe.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Lula B. Blackmon and Jonas Blackmon, husband William (Bay) Ross, one daughter Regina T. Ross, four siblings; Frankie D., Floyd Lee, Bobby Jean, Claudine, seven brother in laws Calvin, John, Charles, Ben, Julius, Milton, Eddie. Three sisters in law: Earlean, Bessie, JoAnn.
Joan leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren: Antwuan, Michael, Deion, Courtney, Courtlandt (Shakidra), Quinden, Corey, Colby, Zahria, Jayden, Xzavion. Great grandchildren: Austin, Ashton, Ayden, Zane, Kali, Ashlynn, Callahan, Lauryn, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, special cousin Jerrie Crayton, special niece Tonya ReRe Givens, special friends and coworkers; Greg, Wendy, Deb, and the Snow Hill church family.
