Jimmie Mitchell

Mr. Jimmie Charles Mitchell, age 78, departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Jimmie was born on February 8, 1948, to the late Fannie Lee Talley Thompson and Calvin Mitchell, Sr. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, where he began his walk of faith.

Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Army, entering military service in 1967. He faithfully served until 1973 and received an Honorable Discharge in March of that year. During his military service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Marksman Badge.

He was united in holy matrimony to Annie Mitchell, who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Calvin Mitchell, Jr., Larry White, Roy Mitchell, James Mitchell, Alvin Mitchell, and Kenneth Mitchell.

Jimmie leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted niece, Ruthie Love of Smackover, Arkansas; his sister, Ernestine White of Smackover, Arkansas; his brothers, Richard Williams and Eddie Lyons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Affectionately known as "Poe Pimp," Jimmie was well known throughout the streets of El Dorado. If you knew him, you knew exactly how he earned his nickname. He loved visiting the casino and never hesitated to call Ruthie to make sure he had a little "casino money." His infectious sense of humor, unforgettable personality, and love for life brought smiles to many and created memories that will forever be cherished.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
