Jerry Moody

Jerry Moody, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, transitioned to his heavenly home on May 28, 2025. He was born July 17, 1948, to the late Andrew and Katherine Moody.

Jerry joined St. Paul AME at an early age and accepted Christ. He later became a member of Union Arc Baptist Church, where he was a faithful musician for 35 years and a member until his health failed. Jerry played for several other churches throughout his life. He loved the Lord and walked with him daily.

Jerry graduated from Old Union High School in 1960. After graduation, Jerry entered the workforce. Jerry worked various jobs throughout life but retired from Prescolite.

In 1969, he married the love of his life, Elaine Moody. To this union later came two children, Kevin Moody and Cedric Moody.

Jerry loved singing, fishing, cooking, and playing the piano. He loved being active in the community and his church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Andrew; mother, Katherine Moody; wife, Elaine Moody; four brothers, Joe Dean Moody, Odell Moody, Billy Dean Moody, and Raymond Moody; and grandson, Jayden Moody.

His memories will be cherished by his two sons, Kevin (Yolanda) and Cedric Moody (Shakerah) of El Dorado, AR.

Jerry is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Christopher, Stephen, Jacovi, Katevian, Kevonte', Jordyn, and Yakiya; five brothers, Andrew (Delois), Henry (Mary), Jimmy, Ricky, and Danny. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bass. He will also be missed by the "Crew" Marcus Gill, Torris Gill, Shannon Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, and James Lee. Also, he will be missed by his caregiver Karletha Williams.
