Jerome Lewis

Jerome Lewis was born on April 1, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the second child of Buck and Annie Lewis. He peacefully went to sleep in death on Monday, March 18, 2019.

Jerome attended Scott Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High, and Des Moines Technical High School. After high school Jerome went on to attend the University of Iowa and Durham Community College in North Carolina, where he received various degrees in opticianry. He went on to work at various major chain stores in the optical department, including Walmart in El Dorado, Arkansas for years. He was affectionately known as the "Eye Doctor Man."
It was at that Walmart that Jerome met the love of his life, Sharon, to whom he was married to for 10 years.

Jerome's spiritual upbringing was that of a Jehovah's Witness. Although he did not attend the local Kingdom Hall, he was always excited any time he saw one.
Jerome had a gentle quietness that was admired by all, except when his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were playing. His sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jerome was preceded in death by his mother, Annie, his father Buck, and his stepdaughter Tabatha.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Sharon Lewis, one stepdaughter Erica Andrews, one stepson, Gary Andrews Jr.; one brother, Craig (Jonetha) Lewis; two sisters, Annie Morris and Deetta (Ray) Brown; one brother in law, Billy Joe (Gloria) Carter, one sister in law, Shelly (Earvin) Miller; a special nephew Lamont (Semekia) Amerison, four grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and his best friend Oliver Morris, Des Moines, Iowa
