Jeffery Deon Atkins was born July 6, 1972 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Thelma Whatley and John Atkins. He attended El Dorado High School and later became a truck driver for Heslep Concrete Co. in Benton, Arkansas. Jeffery enjoyed fishing, playing golf, working on vehicles, BBQ and cooking; he loved his mother’s dressing and sweet potato pie. He also enjoyed helping people. He had a big heart.
Jeffery received Christ before he earned his wings. He and his wife, Deandra, attended Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Benton, Arkansas.
Jeffery was called home by the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, the late Elder Walter E. Whatley; his maternal grandparents, Nemi and Geneva Johnson, and his paternal grandparents, Pheo and Marie P. Atkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of seven years, Deandra S. Atkins of Benton, Arkansas; his mother, Pastor Thelma M. Whatley, his father, John A. Atkins, and one brother, Jonathan Atkins, all of El Dorado, Arkansas; his children, ChaLa Pruitt of Texarkana, Arkansas; Miles Hunter of Camden, Arkansas, Lauren Calvin and Xavier Cooper, both of Benton, Arkansas, and a host of other family and friends.
