Jaylen "Bam" Norman

It's sometimes hard to know why some things happen as they do, for so much joy and happiness was centered on you. It seems so hard to comprehend that you're no longer here, but all the happy memories of you will help to keep you near. As the Angel book was opened, Tamara Petrina Norman & Quenton Carroll wrote down their baby's birth, February 16, 1998, and introduced him to the world, Jaylen Tyquan Norman, in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Jaylen began his Christian journey when he was baptized at the Mt. Zion #2 Missionary Baptist Church in Urbana, Arkansas, under the leadership of Rev. C. L. Tyson, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Church Percussionist, and Choir Member. His passion was a Percussionist. The drums are the heartbeat of the spirit, the leader of the people, and its vibrations connect people to each other and every living thing, backward and forward in time and out into the universe. He kept the rhythm, made special sounds, and added excitement and color. Most of all, he enjoyed having a good time, good dynamics, good technical chops, and, most importantly, a sense of musicality. In his past time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his "Paw Paw.'  He was also a member of the Junior Elks of El Dorado, Arkansas.

Jaylen was a 2016 graduate of El Dorado High School in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was the Captain/Booth Filmer for the El Dorado Wildcats. After high school, he started his career with El Dorado Water Utilities, where he was trained to treat water, Milan Construction, Union County as a Driver, and MJB Company in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Although it took us by surprise, it was no surprise to God as he transitioned from this earthly life to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 11, 2023, where he will join his aunt; Erica Stokes, his grandmother; Betty Ann Nathan, great grandparents; R.V. & Elnora Ward,  Earnest Carroll, Gertha Carroll, Joe Nathan, Sr., and Reta Nathan.

His loving memories will forever be cherished by his loving daughters, Maddison and Jayla Norman of Crossett, Arkansas. His parents: Tamara Petrina Norman of Urbana, Arkansas, and Quenton Carroll (Shureka) of Junction City, Arkansas. Bonus Dad: Christopher "Cha Cha" Scott (Kristi) of Smackover, Arkansas. His grandparents:  Willie & Carolyn Norman of Urbana, Arkansas, and Roy Nathan of Junction City, Arkansas. Three sisters: Alexius Armstrong, Wynieceya Carroll and Bri’Ann Carroll all of Junction City, Arkansas.  Three brothers:  Jamie’ Carroll, Da’Marion Williams and Carson Palmer of Junction City, Arkansas. Bonus sisters:  Breanna Wright and Taylor Scott of Smackover, Arkansas. Two special uncles: Simeon Norman (Aimee) of Beaumont, Texas, and Kenneth Stokes, Sr. of Shreveport, Louisiana. His special cousins: Kenneth Stokes, Jr. and Kyra Elizabeth Stokes, both of Shreveport, Louisiana. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
