Janice Lynell Jenson

July 26, 1954 — August 29, 2021

Janice Lynell Jenson was born July 26, 1954, in El Dorado, Arkansas, the second daughter of J. B. and Rachel Green Clark. On Sunday, August 29, 2021, she transitioned from her earthly home at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Janice confessed hope in Christ at an early age was baptized at First Baptist Church, Cordell, under the leadership of Rev. T. P. Johnson. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

After graduating from El Dorado High School in 1972, Janice lived a short time in El Dorado before seeking to broaden her life experience with a courageous move to Texas. While there, she was employed with the City of Houston. Within a few years, Janice returned to her hometown and accepted a position with Wheeling Pipeline, where she met the love of her life, Jimmy Jenson. They were happily married for over 29 years until his death in 2009.

Janice graduated from South Arkansas Community College as a licensed practical nurse. She worked at the Medical Center of South Arkansas and the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Center. She later joined Murphy Oil Corporation in 2007 as an Accounting Assistant and continued in the position with Murphy USA until her untimely death.

Janice loved people, family, and friends. She was noted for being engaged in long, meaningful conversations for hours. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others and being a light to everyone she encountered. She was a patient listener because of her love of people.

Janice was much like her mother, Rachel, in the way that she enjoyed gardening, plants, and flowers; it was amazing to witness what her hands could create. She was also a self-trained interior decorator with a keen eye for colors, lighting, and texture and would put all those things together to create beautiful masterpieces. She has left precious pieces of herself all around us.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Henry L. Clark and Byron L. Clark, and a sister, Janice Smith Gafford.

Survivors include a stepson, Michael Jenson, and a stepdaughter, Anita Jenson; seven brothers, Danny E. Moore, Jr. (Onyse) of Camden, Jerry L.
