James Edward Banks was born on Wednesday, November 18, 1959, to the proud parents, Elmer Wade and Louis Washington, of El Dorado, Arkansas.
James united with Life Impact Ministries in April 2025, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He faithfully served in any capacity he could under the leadership of his son, Apostle Jeremy Junior.
James, affectionately known as Banks, was known for his witty sense of humor, his smile, and his generous giving heart. You could always find Banks cooking, riding with his beloved dog, playing his music, and hosting a good time for family and friends.
Banks was known as the best mechanic in town. He was employed by Butler's Automotive for over 25 years and loved to "twist some tools." After work, you could always find Banks down in the Thunderzone, hanging with his beloved friends and family.
Banks united in holy matrimony with the love of his life after dating for a number of years. Banks and Sheila married on April 12, 2000, and lived out their vows in sickness and in health, until death did them part.
Banks was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jimmie Ann Barnes; two brothers, Earnest Wade and Lonnie Banks; and one granddaughter, Niyesha Marrable.
He leaves to cherish his impactful memories: his precious wife, Sheila Banks; one daughter, Allison Banks; four bonus daughters, Shekesha (James) Rose, Renesha White, Valarie (Jeremy) Junior, and Tanisha (Lorenzo) Loston; one bonus son, James (Chryshanna) Lovette; one sister, Shelia Banks (Timothy) Boone; a special niece, Shakina Smith; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
