Jacqueline Fikes-Davis

Jacqueline was born on March 20, 1961, in Marion, Louisiana. She departed this life on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

Jackie attended Gardner Elementary School and Strong High School, where she was a proud member of the Class of 1979. She accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. S. S. Adams.

After graduating from high school, Jackie moved to Portland, Oregon. She later relocated to Houston, Texas, where she was employed by Houston's Metropolitan Transit Authority and KIPP Academy.

Jackie loved fishing and often traveled from Houston to Strong in search of the best fishing spots. She also loved sewing and was an avid seamstress. Above all, her grandchildren were her whole world.

Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mannie and Edna "Mama Coot" Fikes, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Torey Lorenzo Fikes, Sr. (Charlaynis) of the Dominican Republic; her loving mother, Shirley Fikes Gatson of Strong, Arkansas; her sister, Vanessa Powell Scott (John) of Houston, Texas; her father, Pelton Teague; her sister, Via S. Lapham; her brother, Wendell J. Teague; her grandchildren, Torey Lorenzo Fikes, Jr., Toray, Toria Alis, Victory, and Toriana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
