Isaac Miles

Isaac Thomas Miles was born September 21, 1936, in the Salem community located in Junction City, AR, to the late Cleveland C. Miles and Mattie Bell Lindsey. Isaac united with the Salem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He graduated from Rosenwald High School in Junction City, Arkansas. On July 29, 1965, he married the love of his life Thelma McDuffie, and their love for one another carried them for 57 years.

Isaac worked for Colonial Bakery for many years before it closed. He retired from El Dorado Public Works. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting fruits and vegetables, raising cattle and hogs, and listening to his blues music.

Isaac transitioned from this life on September 17, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Mattie Bell Miles; four brothers, Grover Miles, David Miles, Arvin Miles, and Will Arthur Miles; and six sisters Lue Rena Miles, Mira Dell Roach, Ida Lee Miles, Betty Miles, Annie Miles, and Lela Miles, one grandson Vinte Miles, and one great-granddaughter Lilac Rose Moore.

Isaac leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Thelma Miles of El Dorado, Arkansas, two sons Vincent (Penny) Miles of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Antwong Miles of Little Rock, Arkansas, and one daughter Caletha (Orlando) Stewart of El Dorado, Arkansas and one brother Pleasant Miles of El Dorado, Arkansas. Six grandsons Sean Miles of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Ja'Corey Tate, La'Vance Moore, PJ Denkins, Albeon Miles, and Ryan Stewart of El Dorado, Arkansas, and one granddaughter Amari Miles of Little Rock, Arkansas. Three great-grandsons Malakhi, M'alkem, and Khroan Moore of El Dorado, Arkansas, and two great-granddaughters Jaiden and Morgan Miles of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, along with a host of family and friends.
