Hazel Veasey

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Mrs. Hazel Veasey Owens was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was born in 1954 to Sally and Walter Owens.

Hazel was a loving and caring woman whose presence brought comfort, joy, and love to those around her. She cherished spending time with her family, reading, preparing Sunday meals, and playing bingo. Her gentle spirit and beautiful heart will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sally Allison Owens and Walter Owens; her sisters, Sarah Ann Owens, Martha Ann Owens, and Kaye Francis Owens Howell; and her brothers, Robert Owens, Roosevelt Owens, James Owens, Frank Owens, Walter Owens Jr., Lonnie Owens, and Johnny Pete Owens.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her, daughter, La'Tavra Veasey; three sons, Mark Owens, Raymond Owens, and Joseph Veasey Sr.; sister Nancy Ann Owens (James) "her beloved grandchildren: Joseph Veasey Jr., Ebony Veasey, Jasmine Thomas, Mark Owens Jr., Markquez Thomas Jr., Justin Owens, Chasity Veasey, Ja'Corey Veasey, Shalayla Owens, Ahrian Veasey, and Denver Owens; her cherished great-grandchildren: Jordynn Baker, Paris James, Jaisley Owens, Mariyana Thomas, MaKenzley Owens, Truu Owens, Landynn McMurrian, Kamarion Hall, Junior Owens, Jnersi Veasey, Muian Owens, and Nora Veasey; as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, adopted grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, and her special friend, Kwanza Davis.
