Gregory Carter

Gregory Mark Carter Sr. was born on July 9, 1960, in Newport, Rhode Island, to Vennie J. Carter and Linda Carter. His family moved to Magnolia, Arkansas, during his early years, where he attended school and graduated from Magnolia Senior High School in 1979.

Gregory accepted the Lord and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in 2020, right in the heart of COVID-19. Gregory was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he loved attending with his loving wife. He was a member of the Marines. He joined the Marines on June 4, 1979. He had an honorable discharge on January 12, 1980. He then went on to the Marines Reserve in 1980. Gregory was a very established truck driver until health circumstances prevented him from continuing his career. On May 20, 2011, he united with the love of his life. He entered early retirement and looked forward to traveling with his wife and family. Gregory also loved being outdoors with his family, grandchildren, grandkids, cats, and dogs and working with his cars.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, the Lord called Gregory home for eternal rest. Gregory was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Ezell and Larry Carter, Walter and Helen Garrison. His son Kentrick Waller, his bonus son Johntavian Hill, godson Arlando Kmane, and his brothers from another mother, Larry Smith and James Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Carter, and father, Vennie Carter (Marie); his mother, Linda Carter; his sisters and brothers, Jeanette Carter, Sean Buffington, Vincent (Carter) Johnson (Kentrella), Veronica Carter-White (Micheal); his children Reginald Davis Sr., April Goode, LaTunya Talley, Marco Carter (Karla) Kiera Carter, Gregory Carter Jr., (Laura), Broderick Carter (Destiny), Taylor Carter, Tia Carter; Cory Carter, Shawn Clark (Shelby), a bonus daughter Kiara Johnson, special cousins Pamela Foston and  Lucinda Harris and Godson Darrell Dewayne. Gregory also leaves a host of aunties, uncles,  cousins,grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and sister/brother-in-law's who will miss him dearly.
