Frances Roberson

Frances E. Roberson, the fifth child of Herman and Mattie Lee Roberson, was born on July 15, 1944, in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Frances was a member of Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist under the leadership of Dr. E.A. Porchia, Sr. until he retired. She later became a devoted member of St. James Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop George Calloway until her health began to fail. She served on various committees while being a faithful member, which included the following: church clerk, St. James mass choir, God's Helping Hands ministry, Sunday school secretary, and mission department, and she assisted in any other areas of the church where she was needed.

Some of her favorite things to do were shopping, eating out at restaurants, playing bingo, and being on Facebook socializing with her friends and family.

Frances graduated from Booker T. Washington High School "Class of 1962" in El Dorado, AR. She received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and English from Grambling State University "Class of 1966". In 2000, she enrolled at South Arkansas College and studied Accounting and CIS/Business Management. Later, in 2004, Frances graduated once more with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Business Management from Grambling State University.

She worked as a substitute teacher for the El Dorado School District from 1972-1993 and again from 2010-2018. She was a former tax preparer for Jackson Hewitt for seven years, worked as an administrative office assistant at CASA for two years, and as a substitute teacher for ESS for several years.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Eurcelean and Estean, and two brothers, Royal Lee and Donnie Lee Brown.

She leaves her cherished memories to her bonus children: her great-niece and great-nephew, Denise Stewart-Page (Bobby) and Orlando Stewart (Caletha), both of El Dorado, AR; four nephews, James Hunter, Jr. of Columbia, MO; Dennis Brown, Donald Brown, and Morris Brown of El Dorado, AR; two nieces, Janell Brown of El Dorado, AR and Deloris Hunter of Kansas City, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, special friends: Jackie Lee, Valerie Brice, Celia Richard, Cassandra Lark, Sarah Lovette.
