Floyd Lott Willis

Sep 22, 1952 — Jul 12, 2026

God, in His perfect love and sovereign grace, called our beloved Floyd L. Willis home to eternal rest. With grateful hearts, we celebrate the life he lived, the unwavering faith he demonstrated, and the many lives he touched.

Floyd L. Willis peacefully entered eternal rest during the early morning hours of July 12, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was born on September 22, 1952, to the late Lott Willis and Floy Carter Willis.

At an early age, Floyd accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Forest Grove Baptist Church. Later in life, he united with New Beginnings Non-Denominational Church, where he faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, sharing God's Word with dedication and love.

Affectionately known as "DF," Floyd was a man of quiet strength, gentle character, and unwavering faith. He was known for his wisdom, kind encouragement, infectious smile, and willingness to lend a listening ear to anyone in need. His calm spirit and genuine compassion left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.

Floyd attended Washington High School before graduating with the El Dorado High School Class of 1970. Following graduation, he attended Oil Belt Vocational Technical College in El Dorado, Arkansas. He went on to dedicate more than 27 years of faithful service to Georgia-Pacific, where he took great pride in his work and formed countless lifelong friendships.

Outside of work, Floyd found peace and happiness in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished every opportunity to spend time in nature. Whether casting a line, enjoying the quiet of the woods, or sharing stories with family and friends, those moments brought him great joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lott Willis and Floy Carter Willis; his sister, Valarie Caldwell; and his brother, Charles Ray Willis.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving and devoted wife, Joann Willis; his children, Phillip Ford (Tangy), Michael Ford (Antranika), both of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Shawanna Butler (Acy) of Maryland; his brother, George Willis of El Dorado, Arkansas; eight grandchildren: Chasity Nelson, Gionni Evans, Jordan Lumsey, Miracle Butler, Sidney Ford, Mikhila Ford, Mikhai Ford, and Mikhai Ford III; five cherished great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends; and his lifelong friend, Robert "Roach" Nation.

Although Floyd's earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of faith, humility, integrity, and unconditional love will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. His memory will forever remain a source of comfort, inspiration, and strength to all who knew and loved him."Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.
