Flossie Mae Dykes-Freeman

Mrs. Flossie Mae Dykes Freeman was born November 21, 1929, to the parentage of Willie Alex Dykes and Phoebe Williams Dykes in Union County Arkansas.  She united in Holy Matrimony to Eddie Dean Freeman Jr. on June 14, 1947.  To this union, they were blessed with seven children, five daughters, and two sons.  She was a homemaker and provided childcare for working mothers. 

Mrs. Freeman accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Fairview Church of God in Christ, where she served as Sunday School Secretary and Church Mother.  She later united with Community Church of God in Christ, where she also served as Sunday School Secretary, Church Mother, and Hospitality Committee member.  Mrs. Freeman remained a faithful member until her health failed and God called her home.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Alex Dykes and Phoebe Williams Dykes, her husband of sixty-six years, Eddie Dean, her brother Willie D. Dykes, and several grandchildren. 

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Christa Freeman Daniels, Longview, TX; Geraldine Freeman Riley, El Dorado, AR; Hattie Freeman Brannom, Kilgore, TX; Michael Freeman, Sr., El Dorado, AR; Jean Freeman Sanders, Shreveport, LA; Charles Freeman, El Dorado, AR; and Eva Freeman Frazier, El Dorado, AR; special granddaughter and caregiver, Yunakit “Yummy” Millage and special great-grandson Bryton Welch, both of El Dorado AR; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, James Calvin (Sherry) Williams, Kilgore, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as neighbors and friends who will miss her dearly.
