Evelyn Oguin was born on May 20, 1928 to the late, Mary Ann Fort and Garland Phifer in Strong, Arkansas. She gained her wings at the Baptist Medical Hospital in Little Rock.
Ms. Evelyn was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher, Mission Ministry Member, Senior Usher Board Member, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and the Mother of the Church. She retired from Georgia Pacific after 39 years of service.
Ms.Evelyn is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Fort and father, Garland Phifer, 4 infant children, and her husband, Wardell Oguin, of 69 years.
She enjoyed going to church, spending time with family, fishing, watching her westerns, riding the scooter at Walmart while mingling with others, and chewing her double mint gum.
Ms. Evelyn leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Lousie (James) of Crossett,AR, two grandchildren, Cathy McDaniel of Crossett, Kimberly Bankston, ( Barry ) of Dallas, Texas, three great grandchildren,Treyvon McDaniel, DeVonte Tucker, and Joi Holden, and two great great grandchildren Jrue and Jett McDaniel, one sister in law, Marjorie O’Guinn, a goddaughter, Mable Tinnin, a special daughter, Bobbie Bankston, and a special nephew, James Earl Phifer Sr, along with other host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.
