Evelyn Bradford- Bailey was born on December 21, 1946, in Smackover, Arkansas, to the late Deacon Kenon Bradford and Birdie Lee Carter Bradford. At an early age, Evelyn united with Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Smackover, Arkansas. Evelyn loved her church family, especially ushering; Evelyn served as an usher until the Lord called her home. Evelyn loved her children and had unconditional love for her grandchildren, and loved helping others as well. Sis. Evelyn Bailey worked many years at the Smackover Boat Plant, ConAgra, domestic work; she worked on the kitchen committee at Sweet Home for many years. She loved gardening; she was a very faithful usher for many years.
Evelyn Bradford-Bailey is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Bailey; parents, Deacon Lenon and Birdie Lee Carter Bradford; three brothers Leroy Bradford, Robbie Lee Bradford, and Lenon (Pee-Wee) Bradford Jr.; three sisters, Erma Jean Gatlin, Nancy Ann Bradford, and Mollie Mae Davidson all were of Smackover, Arkansas.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory one daughter LaRonda Johnson-King (Ronald) of El Dorado, AR; two sons Dexter Johnson of El Dorado, AR, and Kevin Johnson (Natoscha) of Kaleen, TX; one sister Jerri Crayton of Smackover, AR and a special first cousin Joan Ross of Smackover, AR. Evelyn has four generations of nephews, nieces, and a host of cousins and friends and will truly be missed.
