Etta Faye Morgan-Smith

June 30, 1950 — October 14, 2021

Etta Faye Morgan Smith transitioned from Earth to Heaven on October 14, 2021, at the age of 71, but her love for her family and friends will never be forgotten. She was born on June 30, 1950, to the union of the late John H. and I Dell Miller Morgan, in Oakland, Louisiana. Etta received her formal education at Eastside High School in Farmerville, Louisiana. Soon thereafter, she married Donnie Rex "Crease" Williams, Sr. of Strong, Arkansas, and they were blessed with four children. Later in life, she married D. L. Smith of Junction City, Louisiana. To this union, she gained three adult children. Etta was a dedicated wife and mother and was employed for over 30 years in the nursing and home health care industry.

Etta united with the Springhill Baptist Church in Oakland, Louisiana, at an early age. She sang in the church choir and brought her children to church every Sunday. She also sang in the church choir at New Home Baptist Church in Junction City, Louisiana, and volunteered for different activities in the church. Etta was a phenomenal cook and loved making different soul food dishes for her family and friends, especially Sunday breakfasts and dinners. Her favorite bible verses were taken from John 14:1-3: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." These verses embody that our beloved mother is at peace now.

Etta was preceded in death by her parents aforementioned, her husband D. L. Smith, her daughter Alma Gibson, and siblings: Bessie Mae Wayne, Etta Mae Turner, Hester Hood, J. L. Morgan, John Morgan, Lindberg Morgan, Margaret Furlow, Robertean Grayes, Ruby Jean Atkins, Sammy Morgan, Sammy Joe Morgan, Louis Jean Morgan, Sarah Harper, Willie Morgan, and Wilson Morgan.

Etta leaves to cherish her precious memories: four sons, Donnie "Bo" (Terri) Williams of Ruston, LA, Chris (Yasheakia) Williams of Magnolia, AR, Nicolas Williams of Sherwood, AR, and Terry Smith of Junction City, LA; two daughters, Tara Williams of El Dorado, AR and Alice (Wiley) Webster of Junction City, LA; one brother, Joe (Nellie) Morgan of Montgomery, AL; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
