Mr. Ellis Davis was born June 20, 1928, in El Dorado to the late Willie Davis and Lena Woods. He ended this life's journey on Monday, August 27, 2018, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mr. Davis united with the Zion Watch Baptist Church where he was a faithful mem-ber for many years serving as the President of the Usher Board. He then united with the Mt Zion Baptist Church where he also served as President of the Usher Board and a faithful member until his health began to fail. He was a doorkeeper for the Lord for over 40 years and we take comfort in knowing that he is standing at the doors of heaven. Mr. Davis was also preceded in death by his only brother Mr. John Davis.
Ellis leaves to cherish his memories and joyous laugh, his wife of 10 years Earnestine Davis. Mr. Davis leaves to cherish nine children: Johnny Davis (Diane) of El Dora-do, Betty Kemp-Billingly (J.B.), Glynn E Davis (Gale) both of El Dorado AR, Ed-ward Davis of Shreveport, Ellis Charles Davis of Smackover, Billy J. Davis of El Dorado, Felicia Davis of El Dorado, Antonio Davis (Lakeya) of El Dorado and Scelestine Moye-Creer of Las Vegas NV.
Mr. Davis also leaves one loving sister, Willie Jean Davis of Milwaukee WI. Ellis was blessed with 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, neph-ews, and friends.
Nine step-children; Joanne of El Dorado AR, Annette, Barbara, and Veronica, of Little Rock AR. Eshom, Herman, Robert, Rick, and Jaymes Thomas.
Public visitation will be from 12-5 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Zion Watch Baptist Church.
