Elbert Givings also known by family & friends as “Soul Man” AKA “Twin” was born on August 6, 1945 to Estell Marbray and Thelbert Givings, Sr. He departed his life on August 29, 2018 at Hospice Health Care. At an early age he united with Triumph The Church & Kingdom of God in Church where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Elbert was a faithful employee of the Union County Hwy Dept. until God called him home. Elbert loved driving 18 wheelers, grilling, listening to blues and riding motorcycles. He is preceded in death by his mother Estell Marbray, father Thelbert Givings Sr., two brothers, Thelbert Givings, Jr. and Jack Page and one sister, Maggie Sue Anderson. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mollie Givings of El Dorado, AR; two sons, Thomas L Giving (Chuckie) of El Dorado, AR, and Delton Jones of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Trialiniah Brodnax of Lafayette, IN, and Larosha Lacy of Memphis, TN; one sister, Louise Cannon of Lorain, OH; one brother, Earl Harris (Vivian) of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, Tommas Givings, Tyrice Fletcher, Tyriq Fletcher, Ishin Jones, Paris Jones and Kiara Jones; one great-grandchild, Jani Fletcher. A special niece he enjoyed raising up as his granddaughter, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. Public visitation will be from 12 noon until 5pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Sims Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.
