In His infinite wisdom, God saw fit to call from our midst our beloved Edna Louise Baker. With humble hearts, we pause to reflect on the beautiful life she lived and the love she so generously shared.
Edna Louise Baker passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 7, 1950, to the late Ira and Ruby Dell Fikes Baker.
Edna accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Strong, Arkansas. Her faith remained a constant source of strength and guidance throughout her life.
Affectionately known as "Lou," Edna was a woman of gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love. She was known for her kindness and compassion, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and a listening ear. Her presence brought peace, and her love left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Louise was a proud graduate of Strong High School and dedicated more than 30 years of service to ConAgra Brands, where she took pride in her work and formed many meaningful, lifelong friendships.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures-spending time with family, sharing conversation, and enjoying her favorite pastimes. Louise loved crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, and watching major sporting events. A highly competitive domino player, she always welcomed a good game with her sisters and nephews, and she never hesitated to challenge her son during visits to Texas. These moments brought her great happiness and reflected the warmth of her spirit. Her home was a place of comfort where love was abundant and all were welcome.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ruby Dell Fikes Baker; her sisters, Juanita Rogers and Shelia Baker; and her brothers, James Baker and Larry Baker.
She leaves to cherish her memory her only son, Steven Butler (Madelyn) of Mansfield, Texas; three grandsons, Kario Butler (Inecia) of Crossett, Arkansas, and Sterling Butler and Sullivan Butler of Mansfield, Texas; and two great-grandsons, Kario Butler, Jr. and Korbin Butler.
Louise also leaves behind two beloved sisters and two brothers: Mary Ann Reynolds (Arthur), Evelyn "Faye" Jackson, Ira Baker Jr., and Jerry Baker (Ollie Mae), all of Strong, Arkansas.
She is also lovingly remembered by seven special nieces who were like daughters to her: Latish Baker; McKenzie Caver of Little Rock, Arkansas; Jamye Baker McMurrian (Nick) and Jamiyah McMurrian; JaNecia Thomas of El Dorado, Arkansas; Yatrisha Baker; and Najee Rogers of Strong, Arkansas; along with one special cousin, Taurus Fikes of Strong, Arkansas.
She also leaves behind two beloved aunts, Mazue Johnson of Champaign, Illinois, and Ethel Kemp of Strong, Arkansas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Louise also leaves behind the community of Strong, a place she loved deeply and where her presence will be sorely missed. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and quiet strength, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her, especially her family.
