Earnest Broadnax

Earnest Broadnax was born August 3, 1925 in Camden, Arkansas to John Henry Broadnax Sr. and Elizabeth Broadnax. He departed this life on August 3, 2019 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bro. Broadnax was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry Broadnax of Saginaw Michigan.

Early in his life he joined Velie Church of God in Christ. He later served his country in the United States Navy and was a proud veteran of World War II. After serving his country and returning home, he united in marriage to Mary Magdalene Griffith, (deceased). To this union two children were born. Sandra Ann Broadnax (deceased), and Wesley Broadnax of Little Rock Arkansas. Mr. Broadnax later married Eula Mae Bush (deceased). Mr. Broadnax retired from the city of Camden as Street maintenance supervisor.

Mr. Broadnax leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted Son, Wesley Broadnax, a daughter , Helen Jean Broadnax of Los Angeles, a Sister, Emily Broadnax of Camden, Arkansas; three grandchildren Javannah Hinton (Robert) of Fayetteville Arkansas, Ray Lavale Broadnax of Michigan , and Quincy Donavan Broadnax of Washington; three great-grandchildren, Iyvan, Iyannah, and Isabella Hinton all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one niece Clara Jean Broadnax-Pittman of Saginaw, Michigan, and one nephew, Jerome “JB” Billingly (Bettie) of El Dorado.

He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Friday August 9, 2019 at Williams Van Buren in Camden, AR. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 10, 2019 at Velie Church of God in Christ in Camden, AR. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
