Doylene Pitts

Jun 14, 1948 — Jun 20, 2026

Doylene Williams Pitts was born to George Washington Williams and Trudy Lee Reed Williams on June 14, 1948. She was the fifth of eleven children. She graduated from Rosenwald High School in Junction City and united with El Bethel Baptist Church at an early age, where she remained a faithful member until her health declined.

Doylene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She created a home filled with love and shared a smile with everyone she met. One scripture she instilled in her children and grandchildren was Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, Doylene transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal home in glory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Bernell Morton, Ruby Davis, and Roslyn Hatter; two brothers, Lonnell Williams and Benny Ervin Williams; and one grandson, Alston Andrews.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband of 52 years, Jesse Clyde Pitts, Sr.; six children, Chris Lacy, Sr. (Marsha), Eric Lacy, Erica Smith (Shamar), Shawn Andrews, Jesse Pitts, Jr. (LaFela), and Clyde Lacy; a bonus son, Dwayne Hill (Shannon); a son-in-love, Joseph Andrews; one brother, Rev. George Williams, Jr. (Vera); four sisters, Verneida Buggs, Regina Gail Tubbs (Lovell), Geneva Daniels (Calvin), and Beverly Pitts; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
