Dorothy Turner

Dorothy Marie Turner, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully transitioned into eternity on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith. She was born on April 25, 1944, in Junction City, Louisiana, to the late Judge Hoof and Gertrude Jackson. Dorothy united in marriage with Rachel Lee Turner on September 1, 1963. Together, they built a loving life and family. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2008.

She was a proud graduate of Rosenwald High School in Junction City, Arkansas, where she graduated with honors in 1960. Her strong work ethic and determination led her to a remarkable 55-year career in the clothing and apparel industry, where she worked as a skilled seamstress and dedicated dry-cleaning manager. Through her work, she not only provided for her family but also touched countless lives with her kindness and care.

Dorothy was a faithful servant of God. During her time in Junction City, she was a devoted member of Turner Chapel AME Church and later attended Greater Christ Temple while residing in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her faith guided her life in every way-she gave selflessly, loved unconditionally, and never turned away anyone in need. To know Dorothy was to experience generosity in its purest form; the word "no" simply was not in her vocabulary.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Guy Anthony Turner (Pamela), Sherrie Delores Turner, Tony Ray Turner, and Veronica LaShae Vaughn (Sidney); her siblings, Alice Southall-Donahue and Bobby Hoof; her treasured grandchildren, Guy Turner Jr., Terrance Turner, Brittany Talley, Deserae Talley, Lakeysha Jones, Tenequa Morris, Leigh Miller, Dylan Miller, Tony S. Turner (Sarah), Titus Turner, Tayveon Turner, Brendan Vaughn, and Bracie Vaughn; along with 19 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Marie Turner will be remembered as a hardworking woman with a big heart, a pillar of strength for her family, and a shining example of compassion and faith. Her life left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, and her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
