Dorothy Davis

Sister Dorothy Jean Davis was born on January 13, 1944, to the late Elizabeth G. Templeton and O.W. Davis. Dorothy attended school in El Dorado, AR.

She joined St. James #2 Baptist Church early in life. Sister Dorothy worked several domestic jobs before being joined in holy matrimony to the late Vernon Nelson. Later in life, she was employed at Oak Ridge Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for several years before her health began to fail. Later, she joined Beulah Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Luther Harris, where she attended until she suffered several strokes, which limited her mobility to attend church on a regular basis.

Dorothy was preceded to glory by her parents, two Sisters, Margaret Barnett and Helen Foster McGhee, and two brothers, Alfred D. Henry and Ivory L. Famous.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Ted D. Davis Sr. (Patricia) and Leeroy Williams Jr., and one daughter, Ardadria E. Davis McElroy, all of El Dorado, AR. One brother, Ralph E. Williams of El Dorado, AR; One sister, Willie Mae Davis of Little Rock, AR; five bonus children, Sharon K. Foster, Sandra N. Johnson, Safonda M. Iverson, Steve L. Foster, and Oyama A. Williams. Five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
