Dexter Landers

Mr. Dexter Landers was born on October 2, 1978, to Mr. Dexter Landers and Mrs. Debra Ford. During his early years, he attended schools in Limestone, Maine, and Grand Forks, North Dakota. After moving to the South, he attended Hugh Goodwin, Barton, and El Dorado High School. The family later moved to Tyler, Texas, where he attended John Tyler High School. "Go Cujo!"

After high school, Dexter entered the workforce because, as "Uncle Ralph" always said, "Man don't work, man don't eat."

Dexter had the biggest and most affectionate smile. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone he could. He loved to sing, dance, and make people laugh with his jokes. Dexter had smooth dance moves and a beautiful voice, and he sang everywhere he went. He also loved going fishing with his friends. Dexter was an honorary member of the "Cousin Crew," which he formed with his cousins.

On September 24, 2026, Dexter was called home to eternal rest.

Dexter was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Maxine Ford and Ora Lee Landers; grandfathers, Morris Ford and Willie Lee Landers; uncles, Glen Ford, Willie Kirk Landers, Greg Landers, and David Jerome Ford; aunts, Tammie Landers and Linda Kaye Ford; and son, E.C. Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kachera Landers; daughter, Kadaeshia Burgie; son, Jermaine Wade; grandchildren, Jaliyah Ferguson, Jerman Wade, and Khali Miller; mother, Debra Ford (Jessie); father, Dexter Landers (Deborah); brothers, Marcus Jackson, Davonte Landers, Steven Landers, Mark Hall (Shunda), Lawrence Davis II, and Darrin Christley (Tyrhonda); bonus father, Felix Jackson (Angela); sisters, Lafela Jackson (Jesse), Darneshia Landers, Quantella Rogers (CJ), Taja Davis, and Aneah Hall; aunts, Jean Marshall, Dian Massey (Ralph), and Joyce Meeks; uncles, Norris Ford (Dossie), Bobby Ford (Liz), Tony Ford, Billy Ford, and Rev. Dr. D.D. Landers; members of the Cousin Crew, Victoria Massey, Rolanda Massey, Ralph Massey, and Rebeka Massey; special cousins, Bobby R. Ford and Clarence Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Dexter will be dearly missed.
