De'Monte Lamar King was born on January 27, 1984, at Warner Brown Hospital in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Carlton and Sherry King. He began his education at Huttig, AR School District, attending through the tenth grade. De'Monte earned his G.E.D. from Capitol High School online in 2011.
Professionally, De'Monte began working at Pilgrim's Pride in 2002, first in the Sanitation Department and later transferring to Shipping, where he remained until the plant's closure in 2008. In 2010, he joined Great Lakes as a DBS Operator and stayed until 2014. Seeking greater stability for his growing family, De'Monte pursued a career in trucking, beginning to drive trucks in 2015. In 2017, he joined DANA Transport-a position he considered ideal, as it allowed him to provide for his family while being home daily. Sadly, due to his declining health, De'Monte was unable to continue working.
De'Monte met his beloved Nakia in middle school, and their relationship blossomed into a lasting partnership. They officially began dating in 2001 and married in 2013, building a home filled with love and three wonderful children.
A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, De'Montecherished time spent with family. His own phrase, "Tae Love the Kids," perfectly expresses his affection for children-both his own and his many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed family travels, dining out, collecting and practicing marksmanship with firearms, and cheering at his children's sports games.
On April 25, 2010, De'Monte embraced his faith and became a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Three Creeks, AR; on April 27, 2010, he was baptized. On September 16, 2025, he passed away at UAMS in Little Rock, AR.
De'Monte was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virginia Upshaw and Grover Cleveland Andrews, as well as his paternal grandparents, Chester Lee Sr. and Gladis Ruth King.
Cherishing his memory are his devoted wife, Nakia King; his eldest son, Nehemiah King; his beloved and only daughter, Miah King; and his youngest son, Ayden King, all of El Dorado, Arkansas. He is also survived by his parents, Sherry and Carlton King; his sisters, Gladys King of El Dorado and Suevenna Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia; his special uncle, Chester King of Atlanta, Georgia; and a wide circle of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
De'Monte will be remembered for his unwavering love, his devotion to family, and the warmth he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
