Deacon Lonnell Cunningham

February 17, 1956 — September 1, 2018

Lonnell Cunningham was born February 17, 1956 to Will Cunningham and Odie Bell Cunningham in El Dorado. He was the younger of the set of twins, born at this time.  His twin (Donnell) is the elder twin.

He was called home September 1, 2018. He was united in marriage to Annie Dale Tubbs in 1974.  To this union two children were born.  After the termination of the marriage, he wed Mattie Hunter of Tyler, TX.  He worked for the City of Tyler Texas until 2010, and he later returned to El Dorado where he worked for El Dorado Water Utilities until his health failed.

Preceding him in death include his parents; his first wife, Annie Dell and son, Scooter Cunningham; two brothers, Willie (Sonny) Cunningham and Otis Cunningham; three sisters, Betty R. Ellis, Ada Lee Ellis and Ovella Finley and one granddaughter, Anna Dale Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Eric Lonnell Cunningham of Little Rock; a daughter, Anquinnatta James (Greg) of El Dorado; five brothers, Isaiah Burns of Smackover, Rev. Robert Cunningham (Jerline) of El Dorado, Donnell Cunningham (Sherwyn) of El Dorado, Roy Cunningham of Little Rock, Ricky Richmond (Mattie) Texarkana, AR; five sisters, Lula Peoples of Sacramento, CA; Marilyn Wade of El Dorado, Christine Chalk (Larry) of Big Faudy, TX, Loretta McFadden of Little Rock,  Angela Hawkins (Tony) of Little Rock; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one special friend, Jimmy Nelson of El Dorado, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2018 from 12-5 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Christ Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery, Caledonia under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook online at www.simsmortuary.com

Honorary pallbearer will be Greg James and active pallbearers will be Tony Cole, Tony Ford, Danny Gray, Gregory Payne Sr., Greg Turner and Frederick Daniel.
