Emblem

Bro. Clarence Ray Reed, fondly known as Clarence by family and friends, was born November 22, 1948, in Calion, Arkansas. He departed this life on March 18, 2026.

Clarence attended Smith High School in Norphlet, Arkansas. Shortly after, he went on to serve his country in the Air Force. He was employed at Calion Lumber Co. In his spare time, he loved performing maintenance on his cars and spending time with his grandkids.

He was united in holy matrimony to Beverly Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Reed and Etha Galbert; a daughter, Shelia Baxter; a granddaughter, Shernell D. King; two brothers, Floyd Reed and James Cobbs; and two sisters, Lois Reed Barnes and Maxine Aliceteen Galbert.

In loving and fond memory of Clarence are his sons, Michael Pumphrey (Barbara) of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ray Jr. of El Dorado, Arkansas; Dereckio James (Stephanie) and Fredtavious Davis (Janice), both of El Dorado, Arkansas; and two beloved daughters, Yvonne Reed and Shacarra Knapper of El Dorado, Arkansas.

He is also survived by four sisters, Geneva Davis of Dallas, Texas; Joyce McGhee (Rev. Doyle McGhee) of Calion, Arkansas; Flora Jackson (Rodney Jackson) of Dallas, Texas; and Nathan Holly of El Dorado, Arkansas; and one elder brother, Rev. Charles Douglas of El Dorado, Arkansas.

He also had grandchildren: LaDeddrick Buggs, Raynesha Evans, JaCoby Evans, Michael Pumphrey Jr., Cartavious Pumphrey, Marquez Pumphrey, and Ja'Nyiah Millage; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends whom he loved dearly.

He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We love him, but God loved him first and last.
